About the role

UPM is seeking a Forestry Specialist in Hämeenlinna to manage and maintain UPM's own forests and investment contract customer properties. The role involves planning harvesting and maintenance measures according to set goals, utilizing various systems and networks for planning and forest asset management. The specialist ensures that forests are managed sustainably to produce high-quality wood efficiently and economically, while guaranteeing ecological and social sustainability. The ideal candidate holds at least a university of applied sciences degree (e.g., Forestry Engineer) and has previous experience in forestry. Strong expertise in various forestry aspects is required, including environmental issues such as PEFC and FSC certification, modern forest resource data management, system proficiency, supply chain understanding, business acumen, and collaboration skills. The role requires a willingness to use new programs and systems, a desire to develop operating methods, and the ability to perform system-assisted planning work as well as move in the field. Proficiency in Finnish and English is required, along with the ability to work independently and plan one's own work effectively. The position reports to the Forestry Manager.
