Parkanon comprehensive school is advertising a fixed-term position for a school assistant for the period 24.8.2026 - 4.6.2027 In the modern facilities of Parkano comprehensive school, we utilize new teaching technology and digital environments that support student learning in addition to traditional teaching methods. Our common goal at the school is to support the learning and well-being of all students. The entire school day is secured, for example, with free breakfast, hobby activities organized in connection with the school day, and morning and afternoon activity services. In addition to professional teaching staff and a versatile learning environment, student welfare services are available. The position requires teamwork skills, a self-directed and positive work attitude, and the ability to act as a guide for students requiring strong support. We value strong interaction skills that take the needs of the student and the work environment into account, as well as a flexible ability to adapt to changing situations and different groups. Experience in guiding various students, supporting learning, and treating common childhood illnesses is considered an asset. The school assistant works in cooperation with teachers and other assistants to support students' learning and schooling. The tasks are versatile and may include, in addition to supporting learning, for example, supervising student transport and assisting with daily basic functions. Guidance during breaks and working in students' morning and afternoon activities are also part of the school assistant's job description. The primary qualification requirement for the position is a vocational qualification as a school assistant or other suitable training. We also consider expertise demonstrated through work experience. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Working hours for the position are 27 hours per week. The terms of employment are determined by the municipal general civil servants' and employees' collective agreement (KVTES). The person selected for the position must provide a criminal record extract in accordance with the Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002).
