Early Years Teacher

We invite you to join Siuntionkujan Daycare in Espoo to help provide the best possible day for a child. We are seeking a qualified early years teacher for a permanent position. Our daycare has two groups for children aged 1–5 years. The successful candidate would work in the 1–2 year age group. Our daycare emphasizes positivity and community, and it is important to us that every child, family and educator is heard and seen in our everyday life. You will work alongside other educators in the daycare, including a general early childhood education teacher, a social educator starting in September, and other staff who support daily operations. We hope you enjoy developing new practices that fit the needs of the children and collaborating with the broader early childhood education team. You will have strong collaboration with the multi-disciplinary early childhood education special educator and language & culture educator. If you have a solid understanding of the uniqueness of childhood and the importance of teaching across all ages, and can handle pressure in surprising situations, you are the person we’re looking for. We offer a mentoring program to support you as you begin your work as an early years teacher. You will become familiar with Espoo’s early childhood education through the mentoring group, and you will learn to identify your strengths and areas for growth. You will also discuss the joys and challenges of early career with an experienced mentor and meet other colleagues starting their careers in early childhood education. At least a Bachelor’s degree in Education with teacher training for early childhood education, or a university of applied sciences degree in social and health care with early childhood education, or a similar earlier-level qualification (e.g., kindergarten teacher, social educator). Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply. A criminal record extract is required in accordance with the Criminal Records Act.
