Automation Engineer (Design Engineer)

Seeking an automation engineer for AFRY to work on customer projects in the energy and process industries. Your responsibilities include programming, designing, testing and commissioning automation systems, as well as continuously developing systems through the different stages of their lifecycle. You will work as part of an expert team on various automation system development, maintenance and modernisation projects. The focus is on programming, testing and commissioning Siemens PCS 7 and Honeywell systems. You will work mainly from the office or remotely, but also at customer sites during commissioning. Sites are located throughout Finland, so the role requires willingness to travel domestically. Commissioning is project-based and may involve a one- or two-week period working in the customer's production environment. Your work includes: - Programming, testing and commissioning Siemens PCS 7 and Honeywell systems - Designing, developing and modernising automation systems - Maintaining automation systems and carrying out modifications in customer projects - Technical troubleshooting and ensuring systems operate correctly - Working with customers and other project experts - Working in the customer's production environment during commissioning We are looking for a junior-to-mid-level automation professional with practical experience in industrial automation and DCS systems. Knowledge of Siemens PCS 7 and/or Honeywell is particularly valuable. Experience with other systems also provides a good foundation. Previous experience in the process or energy industries is an advantage; above all, we value automation expertise and the ability to learn new systems. You are keen to develop and learn, responsible and reliable, and willing to take on new challenges. You are positive, solution-oriented, communicative, organised and proactive. You work well with others and independently, and know when to ask for help. You are ready to work with customers in factory environments. You have an engineering or master's degree in automation, electrical engineering or process engineering. You work fluently in Finnish and English and hold a category B driving licence.
