Job Description

We are looking for a physical education teacher for grades 7-9 for the fall semester of 2026. Maining School is a multicultural and diverse, music- and dance-oriented comprehensive school. Approximately 630 students in grades 1-9 attend our school, and 75 teachers and school assistants work here. The school has a focus on music for grades 3-9 and dance for grades 7-9. We also have various small groups for learning support and preparatory education. Maining School is located in the seaside area of Kivenlahti, Espoo, with good transportation connections. The position is temporary. The position is a permanent employment. Start date: August 1, 2026. Salary: According to OVTES, based on the pay scale https://www.kt.fi/sopimukset/ovtes/palkat-palkkiot. Qualifications: Qualification as a physical education teacher for basic education. Teacher qualifications are determined according to the decree on the qualifications of education personnel no 986/98. According to section 9 of the decree, a teacher providing basic education must have excellent oral and written skills in Finnish. We also consider non-qualified applicants for temporary positions. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract as specified in the Criminal Records Act section 6.2. We value a pedagogical development approach, experience in co-teaching, and good classroom management skills. Additionally, having a qualification in health education is considered an advantage.
