We are looking for a special education teacher in early childhood education for our early childhood education unit Kivilinna-Myllymetsä-Portti. Our unit includes three kindergartens, Kivilinna and Portti are located in Kivikko and Myllymetsä in Myllypuro. In the coming season, one pre-primary education group and five groups for early childhood education age children will operate in the Kivilinna kindergarten. Three groups operate in the Portti kindergarten and three groups in the Myllymetsä kindergarten. We are looking for a sensitive, motivated and enthusiastic special education teacher in early childhood education to join our early childhood education team. We expect activity, initiative, ability to cooperate, good interaction and working relationship skills and versatile expertise in early special education. We offer meaningful and versatile work in a professional, development-oriented and child-centered community. As a special education teacher in early childhood education, you are part of our unit's pedagogical leadership team together with the director and deputy director. You also work closely with the unit's S2 teacher. As a special education teacher in early childhood education, you are responsible, together with other staff, for the planning of activities, observing the child's need for support, guiding and supporting the child in early childhood education and pre-primary education, as well as the construction of a special pedagogically suitable activity culture and learning environment for the child and supporting the child's individual learning. The activity is based on the Helsinki early childhood education and pre-primary education plan, the early childhood education unit's action plan and the child's vasu and leops. Why work for us? Eligibility requirements: We require that you have eligibility in accordance with the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018) or eligibility for the position of early childhood education teacher in accordance with the transitional provision (75 §), in addition to which you have completed studies that provide professional readiness for special education tasks, which are decreed by the Government; or you have a Master of Education degree with a major in special pedagogy (early special education teacher training). Eligibility is also met by a recognition decision made by the National Agency for Education on the basis of foreign education for the position applied for. In addition, we require good oral and written Finnish language skills. The selected person must present a valid criminal record extract for working with children (504/2002). A tuberculosis clearance for those working with children under school age is checked (Infectious Diseases Act § 55). When you start a permanent employment relationship as a special education teacher in early childhood education with the City of Helsinki in 2026, we offer you an incentive bonus of 2000 euros. The bonus is paid only once to the same person.
