The duties of the position include: - general duties of a parish priest, such as conducting divine services, church rites, devotions, and other parish events - adult ministry - diaconal work; in Lopi, this has included coordinating food distribution, meeting diaconal clients, and distributing diaconal grants - confirmation work; typically the duties of a priest for one confirmation group per year, as well as adult confirmation and guiding approximately 1-5 private confirmation students annually - communication related to their own areas of responsibility - acting as a substitute for the rector during annual leaves and official leaves of absence - acting as a substitute for the office secretary when necessary, together with other parish priests. We value expertise, development skills, and interaction skills related to the tasks described above, as well as the ability to operate as a priest in social media. Since the parish's area of operation is extensive, performing the duties requires regular travel within the area and the use of a car. Our parish streams divine services and other events whenever possible, and we hope that our new priest will operate naturally both on-site and remotely. Applicants must be confirmed members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland. The position of parish pastor requires a Master's degree in Theology, excellent oral and written skills in Finnish, and satisfactory comprehension skills in Swedish. The selected candidate must provide an acceptable statement regarding their health. A six-month probationary period applies to the position. The salary for the position is €3,727.35/month, plus experience-based increments based on previous work experience and performance bonuses according to the parish system.
