About the role

Omnia, the Education Joint Municipal Authority of the Espoo region, is looking for a competent Financial Director to be responsible for the joint municipal authority's financial and administrative services. Omnia strengthens the vitality of the region by providing opportunities for skill development for young people and adults, and competent labor for employers. In its daily operations, the international Omnia operates in the strongly growing Espoo region. The member municipalities of the joint municipal authority are Espoo, Kauniainen, and Kirkkonummi. Omnia is one of Finland's largest and most versatile education providers. The annual student flow in services is over 40,000, the number of staff is approximately 1,000, the number of work-life partners is over 4,500, and annual operating revenues are approximately 95 million euros. In addition to the joint municipal authority, the Omnia Group includes Omnia koulutus Oy, and its equity companies are Omnia Education Partnerships Oy and Wenhe Oy. In the coming years, Omnia will implement a major investment program to ensure the modernity of Omnia's campus network and the attractiveness of its services. The joint municipal authority's strong balance sheet provides a good starting point for this. The Financial Director has a significant role in this entity as the guarantor of financial and funding sustainability and as support for the implementation of the investment program. Core of the task: - Leading budget and financial statement processes - Planning, monitoring, and reporting of finances and funding - Ensuring the financial and funding sustainability of the investment program - Coordinating internal control and risk management - Leading procurement services and administrative services - Developing financial and administrative processes and the digital solutions that support them What we require: - A suitable higher education degree - Evidence of responsible financial and funding tasks in a sectorally operating organization - Evidence of developing financial processes - Experience in internal control and risk management - Knowledge of knowledge management, digital financial systems, and analytics tools - Management and personnel experience, a coaching approach to work - Good interaction and presentation skills Experience in management positions in the public sector or its interface, the education sector, preparation of administrative processes, public procurement, financial administration system projects, and significant investment projects is considered an advantage. The position is a permanent official relationship, and we follow the provisions of KVTES. Suitability assessment and a six-month probationary period are used in filling the position.
