We are Helsinki Shipyard – celebrating 160 years of shipbuilding excellence. Since 1865, we have been designing, building, and commissioning tailor-made, high-class passenger vessels and icebreakers for extreme conditions. We've built over 50% of the world's icebreakers - without us it would be hard to navigate in the icy seas! We are now beginning construction on a new heavy icebreaker for the Canadian government. The vessel will be constructed in Helsinki before being completed at Davie's shipyard in Quebec by 2030. Each year, we offer multiple internships and thesis opportunities to support our design and production teams. What will you do as an intern? As an intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers and designers and support ongoing ship projects. Your tasks may include assisting with design work, drawings, calculations, documentation, supplier coordination, and other project-related activities depending on your background, interests, and the department you join. You will gain hands-on experience in a real shipbuilding environment and see how large, complex vessels are designed and built. To succeed in this role: You are a student in a relevant technical or engineering field (Bachelor’s or Master’s level). You have a proactive mindset and an interest in shipbuilding or marine technology. You are willing to learn and work in a multidisciplinary environment. You have good English language proficiency (both written and spoken) In the production department, proficiency in Finnish is also required.
