We are seeking a temporary Planner-Teacher for Riihimäen kansalaisopisto for the period January 7, 2027 to April 26, 2027. The position targets a person with strong knowledge of liberal adult education and adult education, with experience in course planning and development work. The duties focus on designing courses and preparing the electronic study guide. Teaching hours are fewer than usual, with more emphasis on other tasks. Proficiency with the Hellewi system is essential. You will be part of the adult education team, which includes the principal, deputy principal, heads of music, arts and crafts and languages, as well as clerical staff and the janitor. Experience as a planning teacher and as a reviewer of courses and curriculum development is advantageous. The role requires independent working style and good organizational and collaboration skills. The Planner-Teacher designs the study entities and their organization within their areas of responsibility, is responsible for recruiting and onboarding teachers, and for pedagogical guidance. They participate in the whole institute’s pedagogical development, curriculum and study program preparation and evaluation. The job also involves participation in development projects and organizing institute events, maintaining and promoting contacts with other educational institutions and the working life. Annual working hours are 1200 hours, including up to 580 hours of teaching by the employee. Preparation of personal lessons and post-teaching tasks are performed outside teaching time as agreed with the employer. The terms of employment and salary are determined according to the applicable collective agreement OVTES. A two-month trial period applies to the vacancy. A suitable candidate must have a relevant university degree and at least 60 study points or at least 35 study weeks of pedagogical studies (as per 1998/986).
