Early Years Teacher

We are seeking a preschool teacher for a fixed-term position at Vermon Daycare. In autumn 2026 the daycare operates six groups in total. The opening is for a group of children aged 3–5 years. The team consists of two preschool teachers and a daycare assistant. The fixed-term contract lasts for the entire operating year. There may also be a possibility for extension. Vermon Daycare is a modern facility with spaces and equipment that support learning and play that meet high quality pedagogical standards. The daycare includes several small-group rooms, a workshop, and a large gym. It also provides well-equipped workspaces that enable pedagogical dialogue beyond the group. Vermon is an open, positive and experimental daycare with a joyful atmosphere, unhurried pace, and warmth as core values. We emphasize empathetic presence, play, emotional and social skills in everyday practice. The staff combine strong professional expertise with an understanding of the importance of early childhood education. All groups operate under the leadership of qualified staff delivering high-quality pedagogy. Multidisciplinary collaboration and collegial support enable smooth cooperation between groups. Vermon Daycare collaborates actively with various partners. We act as a practice site for University of Helsinki early childhood education students and host visitors from around the world. In spring 2026, the daycare participated in a pilot on art education for five-year-olds. The daycare also hosts Juvenalian music activities for those who sign up.
