About the role

We're seeking an AI Engineer with solid foundations in LLMs and applied machine learning, a product mindset, and a drive to grow fast in a high-ownership environment. What you'll be doing You'll be part of our Data & AI team, working closely with engineering squads and business stakeholders across a remote-first organisation spread across Asia and Europe. Your primary focus is building and shipping AI features that solve real problems — LLM-based solutions, RAG pipelines, AI-assisted workflows — integrated into our product and internal systems. You'll collaborate asynchronously and across time zones as a matter of course. AI tools are central to how we work: you'll use them to accelerate your own development, while also being someone who builds them. Responsibilities - Develop and deploy LLM-based solutions and RAG architectures that solve real business problems - Contribute to the end-to-end lifecycle of AI features: problem framing, data preparation, modeling, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring - Work with existing data pipelines for preprocessing, feature extraction, and model inference - Integrate AI solutions into the company's cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and performance - Collaborate with cross-functional squads to embed AI capabilities into products and internal tools - Use AI coding tools (e.g. Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) as a standard part of your development workflow - Contribute to identifying where AI can add measurable value to business processes and products Requirements - Minimum of 3 years in a Software Development role, including at least 1 year in AI/ML engineering - Proven experience building and deploying LLM-based or RAG solutions in a production environment - Strong programming skills in Python, including hands-on experience with async patterns and FastAPI - Demonstrated, hands-on experience using AI coding tools in a production engineering context - Understanding of how AI solutions are integrated into cloud-based systems (preferably AWS) - Proficiency in database management, data wrangling, and working with distributed systems - Solid foundation in algorithm design, statistics, and data science - Ability to communicate effectively in a remote environment — clear written communication, reliable async collaboration Preferred Skills - Familiarity with MLOps practices and tools (CI/CD for ML, experiment tracking, monitoring) - Experience with vector databases and semantic search (e.g. Pinecone, Weaviate, Elasticsearch) - Exposure to AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain or similar - Experience working on a SaaS platform, or at least a custom-built product - Self-directed and curious: you take ownership of your tasks, seek feedback proactively, and drive your own growth without waiting to be pushed What it's like working at Remote People Our service & product. We're a technology company, not an accountancy, payroll provider, recruitment firm or similar. We build a workforce management platform that allows our customers to hire the best talent in minutes, without worrying about compliance, payroll, or HR admin. Our amazing team and environment. Working at Remote People means you're working on something very exciting: Allowing every person on the planet to have access to equal opportunities in living a fulfilled work and personal life. We believe in hiring from within and going the extra mile to retain top talent. As the company continues to grow extremely fast, you will be given the opportunity to develop and grow alongside. Our benefits and perks. Being part of Remote People means that you get the benefit of: - A competitive salary - An asynchronous working environment - A "Remote-First" company environment (or Hybrid) - based on the nature of the job - The ability to work from abroad for a short period of time - Growth opportunities within the company - We provide all new joiners with the necessary hardware to ensure you have the tools you need to succeed from day one
