Secondary School Teacher

Savonlinnan lyseon lukio is an upper secondary school located in the center of Savonlinna, offering a general track and a sports track. We also emphasize natural sciences and the study of financial management for youth. Additionally, the school operates an IT track in cooperation with the University of Jyväskylä. We are seeking a full-time hourly teacher for a fixed-term official appointment from August 11 to December 31, 2026. The subjects to be taught are biology and geography. Teaching will also take place at Savonlinnan Taidelukio. We expect the selected person to have a willingness to develop and improve, as well as good interaction and community skills. We value the ability to work in a team and collaborate with teaching staff, school student welfare workers, and external networks. Eligibility requirements are determined in accordance with the Decree on the Eligibility Requirements for Teaching Staff (986/1998). The terms of employment are determined by the Collective Agreement for Municipal Teaching Staff (OVTES). The length of the probationary period is determined by the length of the official appointment; the applicable probationary period is at most half the duration of the service relationship. (Act on Municipal and Wellbeing Services County Officials, Section 8 Probationary Period) Before accepting the position, the selected candidate must present a criminal record extract in accordance with Section 3 of the Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002) and provide an acceptable medical certificate.
