The municipality of Sotkamo's education sector is seeking a fixed-term Sports Coordinator for the period 1.9.2026-1.8.2027. Sotkamo is Finland's most active municipality, where movement is part of everyday life, the community, and identity. We are looking for a sports coordinator who wants to promote the well-being of residents and develop sports in collaboration with networks. As a sports coordinator, you will work in a variety of environments, such as sports services, the adult education center, and the municipality's sports areas. Your duties include planning and instructing sports courses as part of the adult education center's offering, as well as promoting and coordinating physical activity in the municipality. You will work closely with local actors, such as sports clubs, and participate in the preparation of official decisions and committee matters. You will also be responsible for applying for and managing sports projects. Communication via various channels, such as websites and social media, is part of the daily routine. Additionally, you will participate in the development of sports facilities in cooperation with sports area employees and organize various sports events. We expect a suitable university degree and previous work experience in the sports field. Success in the position requires good interaction skills and the ability to work with different people and partners. We also value good organizational skills, project experience, communication skills, and knowledge of municipal sports services and adult education centers. Salary and terms of employment are determined according to KVTES. The probationary period is 4 months. Work begins on 1.9.2026 or by agreement and lasts until 1.8.2027.
