About the role

We are currently seeking an Operations Director to be responsible for launching, leading and developing a new care operation for the child protection residential care in Valkeakoski. The unit will include two housing units, one specialized and one demanding, designed to support children with neuropsychiatric or developmental disabilities. You will recruit two unit managers who will report to you and manage day-to-day operations; their teams will work under them and act as frontline supervisors. You will report to the regional director. The operation is planned to start on 1.1.2027 and the position will be filled flexibly during autumn. Key responsibilities include outcomes responsibility for customers, customer acquisition, personnel and finances, and acting as a supervisor to the unit managers. Daily tasks involve ensuring the quality and impact of care, development of staff skills, managing client relationships with welfare authorities and school cooperation, and taking educational responsibility. The first year’s goals include launching the new operation, internalizing Sospro’s practices and values, creating a client base and collaboration framework, and ensuring quality and results within the business area. You will also turn care, treatment and rehabilitation data into visible information and communicate it effectively. Requirements include previous leadership and development experience in child protection residential care and a social or healthcare university degree. Desirable: prior experience starting a new operation. You should be goal-oriented, enjoy development work, and be able to handle pressure.
