As a Group Controller, you will be part of the city's finance team and participate in the daily operational work of the finance unit. You will work in close cooperation with the Finance and Administration Director, city departments, and other support functions of the organization. You will also work closely with the city's three subsidiary companies. The role is clearly administrative and supportive in nature, facilitating the smooth operation of the city's financial processes in everyday work. Your main duties are: - to act as an expert in financial monitoring, analysis, reporting, and group steering, and to support the city management and financial administration in matters related to the city's finances and subsidiary companies - to assist in preparing matters concerning the city's finances and group companies for the city board, and to compile financial presentations and reporting materials in cooperation with the Finance and Administration Director - to collect information and conduct financial investigations, analyses, and summaries, as well as participate in the preparation of the group's budget, forecasts, reporting, and financial statements - to be responsible for monitoring and coordinating the financial reporting required by the city from the group companies in cooperation with the subsidiaries, and to act as secretary in the meetings of the city's subsidiary companies - to act as the main user of the city's financial systems and, if necessary, as the deputy chief accountant of the city in tasks related to statistical reporting to the State Treasury, the fixed asset register, investment monitoring, depreciation, and internal accruals - to participate in the preparation of requests for tenders and administrative processes concerning the city's subsidiary companies, as well as in the development work of the finance unit. The city's finance team consists of a chief accountant, two accountants, and a finance assistant. We are looking for someone - who has a comprehensive understanding of city financial processes - who has a good knowledge of the Accounting Act and good accounting practice - who is particularly interested in IT and digitalization. Eligibility requirements - a suitable university degree or a previous vocational degree in finance - good oral and written skills in Swedish and Finnish We require experience in financial administration, controller work, financial analysis, and reporting. Knowledge of municipal finance, group steering, and public administration, as well as experience with the Kuntamalli/CGI financial system, is considered an advantage.
