We are now looking for a PART-TIME HOURLY TEACHER (Urdu as native language) for a fixed-term position from 1.9.2026 to 31.7.2027. For the teaching of language and culture groups. The unit for language and culture group teaching includes the planning, development, and coordination of language teaching and teaching for different cultural groups. The activities coordinated by the unit target every student in the city. The unit employs multicultural and multilingual employees whose job description essentially involves visiting different schools. Language and culture group teaching offers a versatile, multilingual, multicultural, and varied working environment. Your duties include native language teaching for students who speak Urdu as their native and home language, according to Appendix 3 of the basic education curriculum. Students are 6-16 years old. Teaching is provided 2 hours per week and the teaching school is Kortepohja Daycare School. Eligibility for the position is the qualification of a class teacher, special education teacher, special class teacher, or language teacher according to Decree 986/1998 on the qualifications of teaching staff. Applicants must attach certificates proving eligibility. If the applicant's native language is other than Finnish, Finnish must be at least YKI 5 level. In the absence of applicants meeting the eligibility condition, an applicant with sufficient education and the skill required for the task may be considered. The task requires good interaction and cooperation skills. We require you to speak Urdu as your native language and master the language both orally and in writing. We value knowledge of the Finnish school system and the ability to operate in a multilingual work community. Terms of employment are determined by the Municipal Education Personnel Agreement (OVTES). Position-specific salary at 100% working time starting from 3168.39–3393.61 €/month. In addition, possible OVTES salary supplements are paid. Working time at the start of work is 8%, and the work is part-time. Start date 1.9.2026 or by agreement. The selected person must present within 30 days of notification of the selection decision an acceptable certificate of their health status and a criminal record extract as intended by the Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002), which must not be older than six months.
