Original job description

As a lecturer, you will work in information and communications technology engineering education (Cyber Physical Systems), the Cybersecurity Master's programme and the Hybrid Security education programme. We are particularly looking for an expert who complements our existing expert team and can combine practical expertise with teaching and research, development and innovation activities (RDI). Your duties include tutoring students and supervising theses in addition to teaching. A significant part of your working time will consist of planning and implementing national and international RDI projects in cooperation with companies, public authorities, higher education institutions and other partners. WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU The position requires a relevant master's degree and at least three years of practical experience in expert duties related to the field. A relevant postgraduate degree is an advantage. You have a broad understanding of cybersecurity as well as deeper expertise or experience in, for example, one of the following areas: - cyber threat intelligence and situational awareness - security of industrial automation and OT environments - vulnerability management - cybersecurity issues related to artificial intelligence and the security of AI systems - SOC (Security Operations Center) operations - hybrid security and the special characteristics of hybrid threats You will work closely with students, colleagues, and company and authority partners, so we value good cooperation and interaction skills and readiness to develop teaching and your own expertise in a changing operating environment. Familiarity with project work is an advantage. We value experience of cooperation with working life and networks in cybersecurity, hybrid security or other actors central to the position. The role requires fluent Finnish and English because you will teach and supervise both Finnish-speaking and international student groups. Sixty credits of pedagogical studies are considered an advantage, and we expect our teachers to complete them within a reasonable time after the start of employment. The absence of pedagogical studies is not an obstacle to selection, and we support their completion. OTHER INFORMATION The position is permanent and includes a six-month probationary period. The employment title under the collective agreement is lecturer. The pay of teaching staff is determined by relevant years of work experience under the collective agreement for universities of applied sciences. Work experience and entrepreneurial experience counted toward service years must be documented. A doctorate receives a 4% supplement and a licentiate degree a 2% supplement. If pedagogical studies have not been completed, pay is reduced by 6% until they are completed. We value diversity in our work community and welcome applicants from different backgrounds.
