Eligibility criteria For the teacher of a student's mother tongue, we require: - a Master's degree - pedagogical studies for teachers covering at least 60 ECTS credits or at least 35 study weeks - sufficient subject matter mastery of the taught subject as well as knowledge of the culture of the language area - sufficient Finnish language skills, which will be determined in the recruitment situation, as the teaching takes place in a Finnish-speaking school Eligibility can be demonstrated in the following ways: - degree certificates from Finnish universities - a decision by the Finnish National Agency for Education (recognition of degrees) when foreign degrees are concerned - subject matter mastery can also be demonstrated by a decision of the Finnish National Agency for Education on the level of the degree when foreign higher education degrees are concerned, where the major was the taught language. In fixed-term positions, in the absence of applicants who meet the eligibility requirements, applicants who lack the required eligibility will also be considered. A person appointed to a fixed-term official relationship must submit a criminal record extract as intended by the Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002).
