Social Pedagogue in Early Childhood Education

We are seeking a permanent Social Pedagogue for the Perkkaa early childhood education unit starting 15 September 2026 or by agreement. The Perkkaa day care center hosts a capable and warm team of six social pedagogues who work closely with the child-raising community and families. It is important that every child is met as an individual and grows up in a secure, encouraging, and inclusive environment. Colleagues support, advise and guide daily situations - and we have received much appreciation for this. Perkkaa day care is located in Leppävaara with excellent transport connections. It enables diverse learning environments in early childhood education and pre-school. The center has modern and functional spaces for 12 children groups. In addition to the director, the center has an assistant director, two broad-scope special education teachers and two language and culture teachers who support your work. Our operations emphasize community, openness, safety, respect and collaboration. Espoo’s early childhood education has a city-wide role developed at the Espoo level. We have effective tools for assessment and development and offer good onboarding and support for the work of a social pedagogue. You will participate in planning, implementation, documentation, evaluation, and development of activities for a 3–5-year-old group with colleagues. Core competencies include sensitive collaboration with families, supporting social growth and participation, and ensuring timely access to early support from a family services perspective. Observation, documentation, and ongoing evaluation and development are integral to your work. Your partner will be the group’s early childhood education teacher.
