We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic institutional cook to work in Careeria's busy lunch restaurant. We offer a versatile role where you can utilize your professional skills in food preparation and interact with customers daily. As an institutional cook, you will be responsible, together with the team, for the smooth daily operations of the lunch restaurant. Your duties include: - food preparation and presentation - customer service in the dining area - dishwashing/dish management - self-monitoring (omavalvonta) - other daily tasks of the lunch restaurant Additionally, an important part of your work is operating within an educational environment: - guiding and instructing students of the field who are learning in a work-based environment - serving as an encouraging and practical professional example We expect from you: - relevant education in the field and 3-5 years of experience from an institutional kitchen - a good customer service attitude - initiative as well as a brisk and proactive approach to work - self-direction and teamwork skills - interest in guiding students (previous experience in guidance is an advantage) - fluent Finnish language skills - willingness to work at our other locations if necessary We offer you: - meaningful work as part of the educational institution's learning environment - a pleasant and skilled work community - versatile tasks and a varied daily routine - the opportunity to develop your own skills, including in guidance work - comprehensive occupational health care - a wellbeing benefit - sports facilities on campus - other benefits include affordable staff meals and customer work produced by students The position follows general working hours (38.25 h/week) and the salary is according to the general collective agreement (YTES) of the KT corporate sector. The lunch restaurant is open on weekdays, and the work is primarily day work. The probationary period for the position is 6 months. The person selected for the position must present a criminal record extract before the employment begins (Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002)).
