About the role

Helsingin kaupungin asunnot Oy is responsible for the management, maintenance, and cleaning of Heka properties by region. In the Northern area, we ensure high-quality and smooth living for 12,000 apartments. We are looking for a property maintenance worker for a permanent position in the Fallkulla area. The duties of a property maintenance worker include general property maintenance, technical tasks, outdoor area maintenance, and small-scale repair work. Property maintenance workers are Heka's largest and most visible employee group to our residents. This people-oriented work, which often involves visiting residents' homes, requires tact and a sense of humor. The buildings and their residents quickly become familiar, as each maintenance worker has their own designated area. Most sites are standard residential buildings, but depending on the area, the workload may also include daycares, restaurants, or service homes. The work is independent in nature, but a colleague can always be called for help if a task requires multiple pairs of hands. About one-third of the work involves yard work. In this role, you experience the cycle of the seasons as the snow shovel is replaced by the lawnmower. In addition to traditional tools, many digital devices and systems are used. Work methods and equipment evolve, and staff can undergo training during employment if they wish. At Heka, we want to retain our experts and encourage our staff to advance their careers within the company. For the property maintenance role, we require a Class B driver's license and basic IT skills. Relevant basic education, skills in operating property maintenance machinery, and at least a few years of experience in property maintenance are considered an advantage. As experience grows, we value a willingness to participate in maintenance on-call duty. We expect cooperation skills, a positive customer service attitude, a desire for self-development, and good interaction skills. We offer a versatile and challenging job with opportunities for professional development. We utilize flexible working hours and provide good employment benefits, such as company bike benefits, as well as lunch, sports, culture, wellbeing, and commuting benefits. There is also a possibility of company housing. Remuneration and other terms of employment are determined according to the KT general collective agreement for the corporate sector (YTES). The minimum basic salary for a person starting in this position is €2,241.81/month. Additionally, an experience bonus is paid if the employee has at least 5 years of qualifying work experience. The experience bonus is 5% / 5 years of experience and 10% / 10 years of experience. We hope you can start work on September 1, 2026. Further information about the position can be obtained from pentti.remes@hekaoy.fi or 09 57673504. The application period ends on August 28, 2026. We review applications during the application period. The application process will close once a suitable person is found. Submit your application via the "Apply for the position" link. Helsingin kaupungin asunnot Oy (Heka) is a company owned by the City of Helsinki. With approximately 55,000 rental apartments in Helsinki, Heka is Finland's largest residential landlord. About 15 percent of Helsinki residents live in Heka apartments. Nearly 700 housing professionals work at Heka. Our largest staff groups are property maintenance and cleaning. Heka is a smoke-free workplace. We value the diversity of the work community and promote equality systematically and purposefully. We encourage applicants from various backgrounds to apply.
