About the role

Welcome to experience the possibilities of shift care and do impactful work for the well-being of Vantaa's children. We are looking for an enthusiastic early childhood education social worker for the Kilteri 24-hour daycare for the period 20.8.2026-31.12.2026. As a developer social worker, your working hours are mainly between Mon-Fri 8-17. The early childhood education social worker is responsible for promoting the community of the operating unit, the well-being of children, inclusion and a safe operating environment. The task emphasizes the prevention of bullying, supporting children's emotional and social skills, and supporting and developing parenthood. You will participate in multidisciplinary team work and guide families to other child family services if necessary. The key aspects of the work are the implementation of early childhood education, well-being work, support for growth and development, interaction and cooperation, and evaluation and development. In your work, you will focus on the early identification of and response to needs related to the child's social and peer skills, well-being, growth and development. An important part is also the educational cooperation with families and guardians and the implementation of professional interaction in the work community and in professional teams. Evaluation of the operation of the operating unit and active development of work practices from a social pedagogical perspective are at the heart of your work. You evaluate and develop practices that support inclusion and well-being together with the work community. We expect from you: - You know the early childhood education act and plan. - You are interested in shift care and its specificity. - You master cooperation and support children's social skills. - You understand the strengths and challenges of parenthood. - You work independently and in a developing manner. - You promote community, inclusion and equality. - You communicate fluently in Finnish, written and orally. Employment details: Eligibility requirement: Social worker in early childhood education (Eligibility for early childhood education social worker according to the Early Childhood Education Act) In addition to the eligibility requirement, we require: Oral and written proficiency in the Finnish language. Terms of service are determined in accordance with the Municipal General Civil Service and Collective Agreement (KVTES) Salary: 3113-3218 eur/month (August general increase taken into account). Experience-based salary increase is 3-8 %.
