Primary Designer

**Remote / Lempäälä / Seinäjoki** Would you like to join **Joonas's** team to design substations that keep power grids operational across Finland? At Sähkölandia, you will participate in diverse substation projects together with an experienced design team. **Who are we looking for?** We are looking for a substation primary designer for a permanent position. You can work remotely from almost anywhere, at our office in Lempäälä (next to Joonas), or at our upcoming office in Seinäjoki. The work also includes visits to substations during different project phases as needed. The role may suit you from two different starting points: **1. You are at the beginning of your career:** You may already have some design experience or a strong technical foundation upon which you want to build your expertise in substation primary design. Your background could be, for example, in CAD design, mechanical or structural design, or other technical design work. **2. You are an experienced primary designer:** You already have experience in substation primary design and want to work on diverse projects. If desired, you can also participate in developing the design process and building new operating methods. **What will you be doing?** Your work may include, for example: - primary design of substations - structural and layout design - earthworks and drainage design - design of grounding networks and cable routes - design of steel structures and connection drawings - coordinating plans with the project team - site visits and ensuring the implementation of plans **The mandatory requirements list** Hopefully, this provides more help than anxiety – you don't need to know everything perfectly right away. The position is suitable for you if: - you have a UAS or University degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, construction engineering, or another applicable field - you have experience in technical design or substation primary design - you are proficient in CAD-based design software - you work systematically and independently - you enjoy solving problems and are not afraid to ask for help - you enjoy collaboration and value a good team spirit - you are proficient in Finnish and, if necessary, technical documentation in English **We consider the following an advantage:** - experience in substation primary design - proficiency in AutoCAD, CADMATIC, or other similar design software - 3D design experience - practical knowledge of substations, for example from sites or testing **Why join Joonas's team?** Because a good supervisor makes the work better.
