We offer you a unique opportunity to influence the launch of a new unit and the construction of future services as part of the Pirkanmaa wellbeing services county. It is possible to combine the position with training and guidance in geriatrics and general medicine within outpatient and residential medical services, as well as flexible tasks from various home care and residential medical service points in Pirkanmaa. Approximately 40% of working time is planned for the VoiVa unit. The VoiVa unit has been established to support the Pirkanmaa wellbeing services county's "Voimavarat arjessa" (VoiVa) operating model. A 28-place short-term 24-hour service housing unit located in the Sastamala hospital premises will begin operations on September 1, 2026. The unit provides multidisciplinary and goal-oriented everyday rehabilitation periods for clients who do not require hospital care and whose functional capacity can be supported more effectively in the VoiVa unit than in the home environment. The goal of the operation is to support the client's functional capacity and enable a return to their own home. This is a new unit whose operations and practices are currently being developed. The position offers an excellent opportunity to participate in developing a new type of service entity, which is planned to be expanded to other parts of the Pirkanmaa wellbeing services county in the future. What does your work involve? - You will be responsible for the medical services of the VoiVa unit and work in close cooperation with multidisciplinary staff. - You will participate in the development of the unit's operations and the construction of the operating model. Eligibility requirements include the right to practice as a physician in Finland and specialist training in a relevant field. We also require good cooperation and interaction skills, a proactive working style, the ability to plan and manage your own work, and an interest in operational development and multidisciplinary cooperation. A degree as a specialist in geriatrics is considered an advantage. Additional information: - Start date: September 1, 2026. - Full-time employment. - A six-month probationary period applies to the position. - You must present the required health certificates within one month of starting work, and the pre-employment medical examination will be conducted by our occupational health service. - The selected person must have an unrestricted right to practice the profession in Finland. - You must have valid vaccination protection according to Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act (1227/2016) and a respiratory tuberculosis report according to Section 55.
