Class Teacher

Martinlaakso School is seeking a class teacher to serve as a music class teacher in a supportive community. The school is a comprehensive school for grades 1-9 with approximately 1,000 students and 130 staff members, operating in a modern facility with up-to-date teaching equipment. The school aims to be pedagogically unified, where class and subject teaching are closely integrated to provide students with a seamless educational path. The role involves planning and implementing teaching that accommodates learners of different levels using diverse methods. The teacher must demonstrate multicultural sensitivity, a readiness to work with students from various linguistic and cultural backgrounds, and an understanding of S2 (Finnish as a second language) teaching needs. Strong interaction and collaboration skills are required to build trust with students and guardians and to work actively within a team. The school follows the ProKoulu operating model, which emphasizes common goals and positive feedback to guide student behavior; commitment to this model is required. The role also involves supporting students' overall well-being and participating in the school's community models. Flexibility, a solution-oriented approach, and a positive attitude toward development are essential. New teachers are supported by teacher mentors. The position is fixed-term from August 13, 2026, to July 31, 2027.
