Our training and career-path opportunities are excellent. What we expect from you A veterinary nursing qualification and experience in clinic or hospital work. The work requires good social skills both with clients and with the work team. Experience in emergency care and anaesthesia skills are considered strong advantages. What is the work like? Nurses play an important role in patient care as the veterinarian’s working partner. Work in the emergency department is varied and brings a sense of achievement every day. In addition to assisting the veterinarian, duties may include sample collection, laboratory work, X-ray and CT imaging, preparing acute surgical or endoscopy patients for procedures, assisting with surgery, monitoring anaesthesia and recovery, triaging patients, and caring for and monitoring patients.
