Project Associate

The general objective of the Sinergia+ project is to generate management processes that strengthen CONANP and allow it to become an institution that plans based on results, with strong finances and effective governance and strategic alliance mechanisms, contributing to increasing connectivity between representative ecosystems to safeguard their biodiversity and ecological balance. The Sinergia+ project has four strategic results: 1) Institutional Efficiency; 2) Governance, Citizen Participation and Collaboration Networks; 3) Ecological Representativeness and Connectivity; 4) Strategic Projects. Within the framework of the Sinergia+ Project, the person to be hired will carry out activities of attention, management and monitoring of projects carried out in the Gran Selva Maya Biocultural Corridor. An important part of the activities is to provide support and follow-up so that the ANPs that are part of the aforementioned Corridor comply with the actions and priorities outlined in the CONANP work programs. This position contributes to the achievement of the goals of Result 1 'Institutional Efficiency'. Scope of Work: Support in advising and coordinating progress reports, as well as follow-up requests from the Protected Natural Areas that are part of the Gran Selva Maya Biocultural Corridor. Propose annual priorities regarding CONANP's participation in the Gran Selva Maya Biocultural Corridor. Propose and support the organization and participation in meetings, events, workshops, missions, among others, for the monitoring of CONANP's participation in the Gran Selva Maya Biocultural Corridor. Promote coordination and provide technical support to ANPs, ADVCs and OMECs within the Gran Selva Maya Biocultural Corridor, to encourage their harmonization and synergy. Support the management and monitoring of projects carried out in the Gran Selva Maya Biocultural Corridor, with the support of partners interested in the implementation goals of the strategy towards 2030. Institutional Agreement: The hired person will work under the technical supervision of the General Directorate of Concertation and Coordination, as well as the General Coordination of the Sinergia+ Project. Minimum Academic Requirements: High school diploma/Bachillerato is required. University studies (Bachelor's) in Biology, Ecology, or related fields are not required but will be given due consideration. Minimum Years of Experience Required: For candidates with a high school diploma, 7 years of verifiable experience are required. For candidates with a Bachelor's degree, 4 years of experience in integrated ecosystem management, community forest management, or participatory planning are required. Required Skills: Experience in producing quality reports; experience in planning, coordination, and facilitation. Desired Skills: Knowledge/experience in environmental governance in rural communities, project design and instrumentation, environmental public policy instrumentation, and monitoring and evaluation. Applicants must be Mexican citizens or foreigners with a migration status that allows them to perform the function.
