Vocational Teacher

We are seeking a teacher for the preparatory training of immigrants at Kainuu Vocational College for a fixed-term employment relationship from 1.9.2026 to 30.6.2027, or starting as agreed. The role involves teaching in vocational preparatory training, for which we require a good understanding of guiding students from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds in both classroom teaching and workplace learning environments. Additionally, we require a practical and student-oriented approach, the ability to encounter and accept diversity and different cultures equitably, and experience in individual and group guidance. A driver's license is essential for the performance of the duties. Eligibility requirements are determined by Decree 986/1998 (amended 1150/2017) on the eligibility requirements for teaching staff. The position requires a higher university degree suitable for the field: - eligibility as a primary school class teacher or subject teacher - eligibility as a high school subject teacher - eligibility as a vocational education teacher (vocational or common qualification modules) - eligibility as a study counselor or special education teacher. Experience working with immigrants and eligibility as a special education and/or S2 teacher is considered an advantage. In filling the position, priority will be given to employees of the City of Kajaani who are subject to layoff or interruption of work, provided they meet the eligibility requirements.
