In the employment and growth services of the City of Tampere, we promote responsible employment, entrepreneurship, and economic policy. We facilitate the creation of new companies and support business growth, ensuring the national and international availability of skilled labor and the development of workforce expertise. We are responsible for employment services in the Tampere region in accordance with the regional cooperation agreement. We perform the tasks prescribed by law for the employment authority and the tasks according to the Act on the Promotion of Integration. We are seeking a Data Protection Specialist for a permanent position starting October 1, 2026, or as agreed. As a Data Protection Specialist, your task is to ensure that the processing of personal data in employment and growth services complies with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and national data protection legislation. As an expert, you will support our organization in developing data protection work, ensure that our staff's expertise remains up to date, and act actively as a strengthener of the data protection culture in a rapidly changing operating environment. As a specialist, you will coordinate the activities of our organization's digital security group and work in close cooperation with the service group's security manager. You will identify the data protection impacts of information systems, customer relationship management solutions, data storage, and data processing on practical customer work and service delivery. You will be responsible for investigating data protection-related risks, deviations, and development needs within our service group and support their handling in cooperation with the city's data protection officer. You will participate in evaluating the responsible and lawful use of new digital solutions, such as AI services and tools, and in developing operating methods. To succeed in this position, you need fluent interaction skills, a development-oriented approach, flexibility, and the ability to work under pressure. Eligibility requirements include a university degree and expertise in data protection legislation, particularly the EU GDPR and national regulations, as well as experience with processes related to the processing of personal data. Considered an advantage: - experience in applying data protection requirements to practical development work - experience from a public administration operating environment - experience in managing data protection breaches and investigations related to the processing of personal data - experience in data protection impact assessment processes and change impact assessments Salary consists of a base salary of €3,714.96/month, a work experience supplement, and possible other salary supplements.
