Sourcing Category Manager

We are looking for a Sourcing Category Manager, ICT to join our team of Valio people (based in Helsinki, HQ). In this role, you will operate at the intersection of technology, business transformation, and procurement excellence - leading sourcing strategies that enable Valio’s digital ambitions in areas such as cloud, data, AI, cybersecurity, and next-generation IT services. As a Sourcing Category Manager, ICT your key responsibilities and focus areas are: - Drive strategic sourcing in a dynamic ICT landscape: Lead end-to-end sourcing across cloud platforms, SaaS, software, telecom, IT services, and data solutions; Design and execute complex sourcing events (RFP/RFQ) in rapidly evolving markets; Structure commercial and contractual models that secure high efficiency and service level (e.g. outcome-based, agile, multi-vendor). - Harness strategic sourcing and technology opportunities to creating business value: Build and execute sourcing category strategies aligned with IT roadmap, digital transformation, and emerging technologies (AI, automation, data platforms); Identify and deliver cost opportunities and value beyond cost: innovation, scalability, resilience, and speed-to-market. - Drive supplier ecosystem performance: Lead strategic supplier relationships (SRM) with key ICT partners; Manage performance, risks, and value creation across a global supplier base; Drive collaboration and co-innovation with technology partners. - Act as a trusted business partner: Work closely with ICT, data, and business stakeholders to align sourcing with strategic priorities; Challenge demand and support decision-making with market intelligence and commercial insight. - Ensure resilience, compliance & governance: Manage risks related to cybersecurity, data privacy, AI regulation, and supply continuity; Ensure compliance while enabling agility and innovation. We are seeking a curious, commercially strong, and future-oriented professional who thrives in complex environments: - 3–5+ years of experience in ICT sourcing, procurement, or vendor management - Proven track record in negotiation, contract management, and value delivery - Understanding of modern ICT domains such as cloud (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS), data platforms, cybersecurity, or AI-related services - Ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-changing environments - Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills - Analytical mindset combined with business acumen and strategic thinking - Fluent in Finnish and English - Experience with procurement tools (e.g. Sievo, Noventia or similar) and/or SAP S/4HANA is an advantage - Relevant academic background (e.g. ICT, Supply Management, Engineering, Economics) What we offer for you: - At the core of Valio’s digital transformation - Working with global technology providers and cutting-edge solutions - Part of a high-performing, collaborative sourcing team - Given real ownership and the opportunity to shape category strategy and ways of working - Flexible hybrid model (2-3 days at the office per week).
