Bridge Project Manager

Lead demanding bridge projects as part of an experienced bridge design expert team. As a project manager, you will work on demanding bridge projects in Finland and internationally, collaborate closely with experienced bridge designers and a multidisciplinary team, act as the project leader towards the client, and keep the project as a whole under control. Our growth is visible in project pipelines and team strengthening, and this opens the opportunity for the project manager to lead demanding bridge and structural projects and develop common operating procedures with the client, the team, and other stakeholders. Our expertise is demonstrated in many demanding projects both in Finland and around the world, such as the Kruunuvuoren bridge and the Chenab bridge. In the role you are responsible for the overall progression of the project: you lead the design work, coordinate solutions, and take care of schedule, resourcing, quality, cost, and risks, ensuring smooth cooperation with contractors and other stakeholders. The job description can be tailored to your experience; the role can emphasize technical project management or lead design depending on your background, while keeping the overall project control at the core. What you can do as project manager: ensure all parties have a common situational picture and clear direction towards feasible design solutions; lead or coordinate structural and bridge design projects, defining objectives with the client and steering design work toward agreed goals; keep design solutions, dimensions, and plan materials progressing through the project phases; lead or coordinate investigations related to condition assessments and define repair solutions; cooperate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders and connect the contributions of other design disciplines at WSP to the project; develop project management and design practices and support the team in project leadership questions; manage project status, anticipate risks, and ensure decisions and next steps are clear to the client and the project team; the position is open in Lahti, Oulu, and Tampere with flexible hybrid work from other locations.
