Java Quant Developer

A leading global financial services firm is looking for a Java Quant Developer to join its engineering team. The role focuses on building and modernising critical financial systems, developing new cloud-native services and contributing to a wider migration towards AWS. You will work closely with front-office stakeholders while taking ownership across the full software lifecycle. Core Engineering: Design, build and maintain scalable Java microservices using modern frameworks. Develop new functionality and enhance existing systems with clean, maintainable and well-tested code. Apply TDD, CI/CD and strong engineering practices. Cloud & Platform Modernisation: Build containerised, cloud-ready services as part of ongoing cloud migration initiatives. Work with AWS services including Lambda, EKS, RDS, S3 and MSK. Improve system observability through metrics, tracing and logging. AI & Automation: Use modern AI development tools, LLMs and coding assistants to improve development and testing efficiency. Identify opportunities for intelligent automation across development and operational processes. Business Collaboration: Work directly with traders, portfolio managers and operations teams. Understand financial workflows and translate requirements into robust technical solutions. Take ownership across the full software development lifecycle, from design through to production.
