About the role

The museum attendant handles customer service at the cash desk, ensures that the museum's public areas and exhibitions are in order before the museum opens, and monitors the premises. We are looking for someone who gets along well with people and is interested in history. You will primarily work on Sundays, when you will be alone in the museum. Your working hours are determined by the museum's opening hours; on Sundays, the museum is open from 11:00 to 16:00. You will work in a small community. Once a week, we have a full staff meeting, which you are expected to attend. Other shifts may be available if needed. There may be summer holiday substitutions. We are hiring 1-3 museum attendants for the position. The job requires good oral skills in Finnish, Swedish, and English. Local knowledge and familiarity with the history of Hanko are considered an advantage. The salary is 14.12 euros per hour, plus a Sunday supplement. We offer you a position in a museum whose values are open-mindedness, the joy of discovery, and versatility. We are a professionally managed museum where we want to provide the best possible service within our resources. To promote equality in recruitment, all recruitments by the City of Hanko are conducted anonymously. In practice, this means that the recruiter makes interview selections without seeing the applicant's personal details (e.g., name, date of birth, native language, gender, or contact information). Therefore, it is important that you describe your relevant skills and experience comprehensively in the application form. To maintain anonymity, it is important that you do not write any personal information in the free text fields of the application form.
