Vihti’s Educational Services is recruiting for a substitute Special Educational Needs Assistant to serve two schools, Nummenlanharju School and Otalampi Comprehensive School. The substitute starts on 24 August 2026 (or by agreement) and lasts until 31 December 2026. Working time is 38.25 hours per week. We are looking for a person with training in social welfare or psychiatric nursing to work in MOPO classes as part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of two teachers and a guidance counselor at each school. The Special Educational Needs Assistant supports youths’ mental well-being and works closely with families. The role involves coordinating multi-disciplinary support around the pupil and strengthening positive growth in the teaching group with other educators. In addition to small-group work, the Special Educational Needs Assistant provides consultative student welfare support to other groups within the school community. The position requires prior experience in rehabilitative small-group work with students needing psychological support and collaboration in multidisciplinary networks. We also value good communication skills, experience working in a team, and ICT proficiency in teaching. We value initiative, a positive attitude and a willingness to develop and share strengths-based expertise. Terms of employment follow the municipal collective agreement (KVTES). The selected candidate will provide a criminal background extract as required by law for those working with children (504/2002). A two-month probationary period applies.
