About the role

This vacancy describes a temporary role for a Youth Reception ward escort and caregiver (lähihoitaja) at the Youth Reception Metsälä. The role involves direct care, guidance and assessment of adolescents aged 13-17 in a ward setting, in a multi-disciplinary team including social workers, nurses, and a psychologist. The ward operates around the clock with crisis placements often in a high-demand environment. Responsibilities include holistic wellbeing and safety of the adolescent, coordinating with the family and social workers to map needs and supports, and contributing to short-term care and observation during placements. The unit consists of four wards with six client places each, and nine-person teams. The candidate will work in three shifts and may be required to participate in admissions and close collaboration with authorities in complex cases. The job begins on 14 September 2026 or by agreement.
