In Kainuu, a geriatrician performs meaningful and holistic work for the benefit of elderly patients. Our geriatrics center of expertise combines specialist outpatient clinic work, municipal memory clinics, and the operations of the acute geriatrics unit. In this position, you will: Be responsible for geriatric assessment, diagnostics, and treatment planning at the outpatient clinic Work in a multidisciplinary team together with memory nurses and memory coordinators Act as senior support and a consultant in primary healthcare and hospital units, and participate in acute geriatric activities Influence treatment practices and develop geriatric services together with an experienced team Tailor your job description according to your interests, for example focusing on the outpatient clinic or hospital geriatrics The work is planned and manageable: appointment days are paced so that there is time for both patient work and documentation and consultation. In the outpatient clinic, the patient volume is moderate and appointment times are long enough to perform a high-quality comprehensive assessment. The position is full-time and includes the possibility of a flexible job description, part-time work, and partial remote work. Eligibility requirement: qualification as a specialist physician in geriatrics. We require vaccine protection in accordance with Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act. Familiarity with the diagnosis and treatment of memory diseases, as well as experience in the holistic assessment of multimorbid and functionally frail patients, is considered an advantage. We value experience in multidisciplinary collaboration and consultation work, as well as an interest in operational development. Additionally, we value good interaction and cooperation skills, the ability to perceive patient care as a whole, and fluent oral and written skills in Finnish.
