Welcome to develop early childhood education in Pori as an assistant director of a daycare center! The City of Pori is seeking an assistant director for Koivula Daycare Center. We are looking for a development-oriented and motivated team player. Koivula Daycare Center has nine groups operating under the same roof. We actively develop cooperation between groups and have divided the groups into peer teams for joint work. Our unit includes an integrated special needs group and a broad-based special education teacher. As a partner to the unit manager, you will participate in developing and leading inclusive early childhood education with us. In Pori, leadership is emphasized, and the assistant director model has been developed since 2023. The assistant director's role is administrative, leading and developing pedagogical activities in early childhood education together with the unit manager. The assistant director is responsible for maintaining up-to-date documentation for the daycare, orienting new employees, and developing the orientation process. The assistant director also substitutes for the daycare manager when needed, handles some substitution arrangements, and participates in shift planning. The assistant director of the early childhood education unit supports the daycare manager in planning, evaluating, and developing early childhood education and preschool education. We require the assistant director to have broad knowledge of early childhood education and preschool services, good pedagogical skills, sufficient relevant work experience, and strong interaction and collaboration skills. Leadership skills are considered an advantage. We value a flexible and developmental approach, good organizational skills, the ability to operate in changing situations, digital competence, and a positive attitude. The qualification requirement is compliance with the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018), Chapter 6, Section 31, including transitional provisions of Chapter 14, Section 75. The starting salary for the position is €3,224.10/month. In addition to the base salary, experience-based pay is provided based on previous service history. A personal bonus system is also in use.
