Lead Engineer, Layout and Piping

Sweco is seeking a Lead Engineer in layout and piping to strengthen its process and industrial design expert team. In the role, you will be the technical lead for layout and piping design and participate in the design, coordination and development of demanding industrial projects. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary and international project organisation and collaborate closely with clients, project managers and experts from different design disciplines. You are responsible for the quality, technical delivery and progress of your design discipline in accordance with project objectives. You will also participate in guiding international design resources and coordinating design work. You will work on assignments for clients in the chemical, mining, forest and energy industries in Finland and internationally. The role combines technical lead design, coordination of design work and team development. We work in 28 locations around Finland, and you can choose a location that suits you. Please state in your application which location you would prefer. What you need to succeed You have at least 10 years of experience in layout and piping design and lead designer duties. You have led or coordinated an international plant-design team in projects and can guide designers working in different countries clearly and purposefully. You are proficient in at least one process-industry 3D design system, such as E3D, PDMS, Smart 3D, PDS, Autodesk Plant 3D or Vertex. You also use CAD and office applications comfortably. You lead and guide day-to-day design work, ensure quality, schedules and technical delivery, and support team members. You can build effective collaboration remotely and take initiative to move matters forward. You work well both independently and as part of a project team. You take responsibility, keep the client’s needs in mind and want to develop working practices and your own expertise. The role requires a suitable technical higher-education degree (UAS/MSc).
