We are seeking a pediatrician for the Assi Hospital in Hämeenlinna, to join the pediatric unit at Kanta-Häme Central Hospital. The unit is active, research-friendly, and training-focused, with a permanent team of 12 pediatric specialists (11 in Hämeenlinna and 1 in Forssa). Our subspecialties include pediatric rheumatology, pediatric gastroenterology, and neonatology; there is also a physician with diabetes care certification, a fellow in allergy, and a pediatrician pursuing adolescent medicine specialization. The unit includes a ward, daytime hospital, specialized outpatient clinics, and newborn intensive and observation units. We collaborate with pediatric surgery and pediatric neurology. Four residents are currently training in the unit. The role requires work at various hospital sites, on-call duties (active on-call or on-call as needed), and primarily on-site patient care. Part-time work is possible. We emphasize training and professional development, with EVO funding support for domestic and international trainings. Oma Häme supports research by granting paid leave for doctoral work, higher higher-education studies, or other medical research. Other terms follow HYVTES. A six-month probation is in place. The role requires vaccination protection and tuberculosis clearance as per health law; a criminal background check for those working with children and a medical certificate are required before starting.
