Automation & OT Network Specialist

In this role you will be in a central position responsible for designing the communication networks for energy and automation environments together with lead and systems designers. You will support various lines of business across departments and work closely on projects. The Automation & OT Network Specialist role covers the entire project chain from bidding to implementation and maintenance. The position is full-time and starts as soon as possible according to the agreement. Your workstation can be in Vaasa, Oulu or Seinäjoki. Travel days may occur occasionally (a few days per month). In this role you will work in close cooperation with IT, design, commissioning and maintenance specialists. You will participate in the development of OT networks, supervision solutions and cyber security. Your responsibilities include: designing and developing communication networks for energy and automation environments (e.g., signaling lists, communication diagrams, network topologies and equipment solutions); planning IP-, LAN-, VPN- and firewall solutions with security, reliability and maintainability considerations; supporting the design and implementation of monitoring, remote access and cloud connectivity solutions with security and reliability requirements; planning and ensuring commissioning including system testing and troubleshooting and post-commissioning technical support; collaborating with customers, suppliers and stakeholders in various project phases. What we look for: for example OT/IT expert with electrical sector knowledge or electrical professional with OT/IT experience. The candidate should have: strong experience with industrial energy and automation networks and their design; understanding of electrical power engineering, substations and related automation systems; ability to develop, implement and maintain cloud-based monitoring solutions; comprehensive understanding of OT network structure and security from device to DMZ interface; knowledge of data transmission and communication protocols used in energy and automation environments (e.g., TCP/IP, IEC 60870-5-104, IEC 61850, OPC UA and Modbus TCP); experience with firewall, VPN and remote access solutions; proactive and solution-oriented work style with good collaboration and communication skills; good Finnish and English skills.
