As a Group Leader in WSP's traffic planning, you lead a team of about 10 experts and are part of a community of nearly 100 traffic specialists in Finland. The role supports the everyday work of the group, leads traffic planning projects, and collaborates closely with clients, colleagues, and other experts. Projects may relate to your expertise and interests, for example zoning and downtown development traffic planning, tram projects, traffic management planning, and road and street environment traffic planning from pre-design to implementation. WSP's strength is its exceptionally broad project portfolio in traffic planning, spanning transport system development, project development, public transport, walking and cycling, smart mobility, and major urban and infrastructure projects. You will participate in diverse projects alongside Finland’s leading specialists, with multi-disciplinary expertise around you and experienced colleagues to solve things in cooperative ways. What you will do: you support the daily operations of the expert group, manage planning, resourcing, monitoring objectives, and development of competencies; you monitor the group’s workload and project progress as part of the traffic planning department’s daily life; you will act as project manager in traffic planning projects and guide content, timelines, and quality; you will work according to your expertise and interests in areas such as zoning, downtown development, tram projects, and road and street environment planning; you will participate in traffic management group work and build smooth collaboration among teams and areas of expertise; you will participate in developing the group’s client relations and proposal activities; if you wish you can take client responsibility. We are looking for a candidate primarily for WSP’s Helsinki office. We work in a hybrid model, and work can be done flexibly also from other locations. What we expect from you: a suitable university degree, e.g. DI or ins. AMK; several years of experience in traffic planning as a project manager; experience or willingness to take responsibility for a group leader role; supervisory experience is welcome but not required; ability to lead people and activities clearly and prioritise work also in changing situations; strong written and spoken Finnish language skills.
