The Joensuu City Library is seeking an Area Information Officer to Joensuu Seutukirjasto in a permanent employment. The job involves coordinating the daily work of an 11-person unit across four libraries and participating in it as well. Tasks include preparing work shifts and planning daily work together with the service manager, customer service, collection work and acquisitions, event organization and informing. The job offers opportunities to develop libraries with targeted objectives. The work station is at Kontiolahti Library, but work is also done at Lehmo, Enon and Uimaharju libraries as well as in the library van. The job requires organizational, communication and ICT skills. Experience in customer service, collection work and event organization is beneficial. Flexible situations require adaptability, problem-solving and teamwork. The successful candidate must have a suitable higher education degree, including or in addition at least 60 ECTS credits of university-level library and information science studies. Driving license is required because travel is part of the job. The Area Information Officer works two shifts. The position salary is according to the pay scale Level 2KIR42C1: 3114.15 €/month. Note that the municipal sector has long annual leaves and vacation days amount to only 5 days per week, with annual leave length varying from 23 to 38 days depending on work history.
