Who the agreement covers

Ylioppilaskuntien työehtosopimuksessa määrätään sen soveltamisalaa koskevan määräyksen mukaan kulloinkin voimassa olevan yliopistolain mukaisten ylioppilaskuntien toimisto-, järjestö-, talous- ja muiden varsinaista toimintaa toteuttavien työntekijöiden vähimmäistyöehdot. Työehtosopimusta ei sovelleta ylioppilaskuntien toimitukselliseen henkilöstöön, eikä tällä työehtosopimuksella oteta kantaa heidän työehtojensa määräytymiseen. Työehtosopimusta sovelletaan myös Suomen ylioppilaskuntien liitto SYL ry:n toimihenkilöihin. Sopimus ei koske työnantajan edustajia.

Does it apply to every employer in the field?

Yes. The Confirmation Board has found this agreement generally binding (yleissitova), so its minimum terms apply to every employer in its field, including employers who are not members of the signing employer federation. Your employment contract cannot agree on anything worse than these terms.
