Koja Group is a growing Finnish family-owned company with more than 90 years of history. It provides air-handling solutions for buildings and ships, as well as fan solutions for industry. The group develops innovative technology solutions efficiently and safely to help customers achieve their energy and environmental goals. It includes Koja-Yhtiöt Oy, Koja Oy and Chiller Oy, together with their subsidiaries and operations in Finland, Sweden, Germany and the USA. The group employs more than 500 people. More information: www.koja.fi. We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer for our client Koja Oy for a permanent position. What would you do with us? This role combines electrical design, product development and project management in an international marine-business environment. You will also be able to influence the ventilation solutions built into Koja’s products and systems in the future. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, productising and maintaining the electrification of cruise-ship ventilation products throughout the product life cycle. You will advance product-development projects in line with Koja’s roadmap and act as project manager for your own development projects. You will design electrical solutions for products, create circuit diagrams, specify components and develop product electrical architectures. You will also manage electrical product structures and contribute to the development of design automation and new digital tools. You will have the opportunity to use language-model-based solutions in your work and influence how they are used in design. You will work closely with mechanical designers, production, the digitalisation team and other product-development experts. You will join a product-development team of about ten people and also receive support from Koja’s wider technology-development organisation and its research laboratories. Your workplace is on Lentokentänkatu in Tampere. The role includes regular visits to the production site in Jalasjärvi about two or three times a month, so having your own car is practically necessary. You will have a flexible hybrid working model and flexible working hours. You will be employed directly by Koja. What kind of person are we looking for? To succeed in the role, you have a relevant Bachelor of Engineering or Master of Science in Engineering degree, as well as experience in electrical design and developing technical products. You have already gained practical skills in preparing circuit diagrams, specifying components and designing different devices or systems. We value experience in product-development projects and leading development projects. Familiarity with the marine environment, experience with design-software integrations and an understanding of design automation and its use are also considered an advantage. You will use EPLAN design software and the Vertex Flow product information management system. Previous experience with electrical CAD and PDM systems provides a good foundation for the role. As a person, you are proactive, take matters in hand with confidence and move them forward purposefully. You ask questions, challenge ideas and actively share your own. You enjoy an environment where things are continuously developed and where you have a genuine opportunity to influence the outcome. Finnish is the working language, but you also need English skills. What do we offer? We offer a permanent, varied and meaningful role in a financially stable and growing Finnish company at the heart of the green transition, providing innovative technology solutions to its customers. Koja invests heavily in domestic production and develops its operations for the long term, which is reflected in forward-looking investments and clear ways of working in employees’ day-to-day work. Koja is a responsible family-owned company where you will receive support, join a caring work community and have good opportunities for professional growth. You will receive a good induction, and your colleagues will support you from the start. Pay is based on your skills and experience. Our comprehensive employment benefits include extensive occupational healthcare and the Epassi recreational benefit. Koja is a smoke-free workplace. Employees joining Koja will undergo a drug test before employment begins. Certain projects may also require security clearance under the Security Clearance Act (726/2014). Interested? If this role feels like the right next step for you, we would very much like to hear from you. Apply by 1 November 2026. The recruitment process is carried out in cooperation with Biisoni.
