
Energy Marshal
Overview: We are seeking an experienced Energy Marshal to join a major hyperscale data centre construction programme in Brandenburg, Germany. This is a critical safety leadership role responsible for overseeing and enforcing the energy isolation and control programme across the site, ensuring all energisation, de-energisation, and electrical isolation activities are carried out safely and in full compliance with site-specific and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with the General Contractor, electrical subcontractors, and commissioning teams throughout the construction and commissioning phases.\n\nKey Responsibilities: Oversee and enforce the site Energy Isolation Programme across all phases of construction and commissioning; Manage Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, electrical isolation, and re-energisation activities; Review and approve Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for all energy-related works, in line with the site-specific energy control plan; Audit isolation processes and close out compliance gaps across all vendors and trade partners; Act as the key point of contact between the GC, electrical contractors, and commissioning teams on all energy control matters; Verify training, qualifications, and PPE compliance for all personnel undertaking energy-related work; Issue and authorise permits for HV/LV switching, isolation, and energisation activities; Maintain full documentation and audit trail for all energy isolation and switching events; Support incident and near-miss investigations relating to energy control.\n\nRequirements: Proven experience as an Energy Marshal, Energy Isolation Manager, or in a comparable HV/LV switching and isolation authority role (e.g. Senior Authorised Person); Strong technical background in HV/LV electrical systems, switchgear, and substation infrastructure; Prior experience on hyperscale or mission-critical data centre construction projects essential; Recognised electrical authorisation status (SAP/AP or equivalent), or German equivalent (Schaltberechtigter/Anlagenverantwortlicher) desirable; Working knowledge of hazardous energy control standards and LOTO frameworks; Fluent English required, German language skills advantageous; Right to work in Germany/EU required
