OCCUPATIONSSUMMARY: We are expanding our project portfolio and seek a Design Manager / Project Manager for Turku region to lead design activities across multiple projects. Based at our Turku office by the river, projects span across Varsinais-Suomi and Satakunta. The role combines design leadership, coordination of external designers and consultants, scheduling, cost and quality control, and active risk management. You will lead a multidisciplinary design team including architects and structural, geotechnical, HVAC, electrical and automation engineers, and collaborate closely with the construction manager, project organization and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project progress from start to finish. RESPONSIBILITIES: lead and coordinate design in projects; guide external designers and design consultants; develop and drive design schedule; monitor design costs and quality; prepare and document design meetings and reviews; ensure feasible and cost-effective solutions; identify design risks and pro-actively manage them; collaborate with clients, authorities, production, procurement and other stakeholders; participate in bidding and workshops. QUALIFICATIONS: relevant construction industry education (e.g., construction, LVIA or electrical engineering, or architecture) and at least five years of experience in diverse project management tasks. Experience in development management and design supervision is an advantage. You understand project management, cost control and building regulations and their impact on design decisions throughout the project lifecycle from development phase to execution. You can manage design activities for several projects simultaneously. You are able to work proactively and collaboratively, communicating fluently in Finnish and English. Experience with collaborative projects is valued. Additional merit for experience in occupier/industrial projects and interest in developing design solutions with clients, designers and production.
