We have a position for a kitchen manager! Do you want to cook in a place where seasons, international guests, and mountain nature meet every day? We are looking for a kitchen manager at Scandic Rukahovi in the heart of Ruka. In this role, you will be responsible for the kitchen operations of two restaurants, with customer numbers varying from dozens to over 300 daily. The work is seasonal and requires the ability to manage the whole smoothly even in busy times. You will oversee daily operations, quality, and flow of two kitchens, leading a team of about 8-12 people in accordance with Scandic's values. You will be involved in kitchen activities and management. Responsibilities include ensuring quality and development of à la carte, meeting, and event catering, managing orders, inventory, and stocktaking, planning shifts and monitoring execution, onboarding, self-monitoring, food safety, leading the team’s daily work, and maintaining a good working atmosphere. Administrative work is part of the role, but the main focus is on practical work and leadership on-site. We seek someone with hotel and restaurant education and about 5 years of kitchen experience, including some in a supervisory role. You should be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, make decisions under pressure, lead practically and be involved in the work, understand chain concepts but also see development opportunities, communicate fluently in Finnish and English, and have good interpersonal skills, situational awareness, and team-building ability.
