In Peikkometsä, the six-group sports-focused daycare will have about 20 early childhood professionals under your leadership. The role is entirely leadership work; the director does not have their own group of children. We want to give the director real time to lead. You will be responsible for the overall operation of the daycare in collaboration with the deputy director and the rest of Peikkometsä’s organization. You should be approachable, visible and present as a leader. Your duties include: overall daycare leadership; personnel leadership of about 20 staff; leadership and development of pedagogical activity; workforce planning; recruitment; development and wellbeing discussions and other supervisory tasks; supporting staff wellbeing and a positive working atmosphere; monitoring and developing the daycare’s quality; cooperation with guardians, City of Espoo and other stakeholders; ensuring compliance with obligations related to early childhood education and safety. The daycare has a deputy director on site, and you will also have support from Peikkometsä’s management team and administration. What kind of leader would suit us? We mainly want a good people leader. We hope you bring strong early childhood education knowledge and prior supervisory or leadership experience. Eligibility: eligibility as a daycare director under the Act on Early Childhood Education and the required education and work experience. The successful candidate must present a criminal record extract under the relevant law before starting work.
