Commissioning Engineer for substation projects, Multirel Would you like to grow into an expert in the most demanding equipment systems in electrical infrastructure? At Multirel, you will work with main transformers, compensation systems, and substation protection relays and control devices rather than just a narrow slice of routine testing. You will take part in commissioning and testing comprehensively, from start to finish. With support from experienced colleagues, you will learn to manage substation systems and solve practical challenges in field work. Company: Multirel Oy Location: Kirkkonummi / travelling work Start: As soon as possible Employment type: Full-time, permanent Work type: Staffing assignment Other: Possibility of partial remote work Role description We are looking for a commissioning engineer for Multirel to strengthen the team in demanding electricity distribution delivery projects across Finland. You will work on commissioning products from the principals represented by Multirel and on testing, troubleshooting and verifying the operation of substation protection relays and control devices. In this skilled team, you can grow into a versatile professional in the field. Multirel’s employees are dedicated to their work, and the company has good networks with the principals of the products it represents. The team works towards its goals in a good spirit, and every member of the organisation is listened to. What we offer - An interesting opportunity to see the full lifecycle of substation commissioning - The chance to learn from varied projects and develop your skills with support from experienced colleagues - Responsibility and freedom as your expertise develops - A very stable and favourable market outlook for several years ahead - A flat organisation and approachable, knowledgeable colleagues The base salary for the role is approximately €3,500–€5,000 per month, depending on experience. Daily allowances and travel supplements are also paid for work-related travel and add significantly to total earnings. Your tasks - Configure and test main transformers, substation protection relay systems and control devices, and carry out commissioning tests at substations - Manage commissioning comprehensively, from installation and wiring through to final verification of operation - Interpret circuit diagrams and troubleshoot technical issues in industrial, power plant and substation environments - Work closely in the field with customers, installation teams and equipment manufacturers’ experts What we are looking for - Suitable education for the role, such as electrical power engineering studies at a university of applied sciences or a vocational qualification in electricity complemented by practical work experience - Good practical understanding of reading and interpreting electrical circuit diagrams - Previous experience with electrical connections, installations or troubleshooting, for example in an industrial, maintenance or construction-site environment - Readiness and willingness to travel within Finland for projects, approximately 20–30 travel weeks per year - Fluent Finnish Previous knowledge of high-voltage equipment, protection relays, control devices or transformers is an advantage. Above all, we value genuine interest in systems, initiative and the courage to take action and solve problems. Your skills may come from studies and site experience or, for example, industrial maintenance work. You do not need to be an experienced commissioning and testing specialist. The most important things are a strong electrical engineering background and a desire to develop into an expert in demanding substation systems.
